Joyce Haselton leads the kindergarden through Second grade children every Sunday on the second floor of the Family Life Center Room 201 in a variety of studies.
In our current study, the girls and boys are discovering colorful and exciting characters in the Old Testament. They are meeting a woman judge, Deborah, Samuel, King Saul, David, Solomon, Naomi and Ruth. They are learning all the different roles that David played, possibly beginning to understand that they, too, will some day play many roles in life. In the last unit, the children will hear stories about how a devastated country, with God's help, grew to be great once more. | Wanda Starling, MD, leads the 3rd-5th grades Sunday School Class. Emphasis is on Biblical study of the scriptures, learning how to find passages and reading out loud and discussing the meaning of the passage. We also discuss current world events with emphasis on how we can help and pray for our world.
We also work on memorization of important aspects of the Bible: Naming 10 commandments, 10 plagues, 12 disciples, books of the old and new testaments, etc etc. All children are expected to bring their Bibles, a small donation to our Sunday School Church Bank, and be on time. |
