Children are the future of Landrum United Methodist Church. Particapation in Worship Services is an important experience in the life of children. Our children are acolytes at both the 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM services. A children's message is given at both services at which time the children put their offering into a bank for missions needs. The children decide on the mission to donate the offerings to.
Each month, the children of LUMC experience a service project by assembling bags of dry goods obtained by our Gifts In Kind Ministry for distribution at the Community Meal. Over 250 bags are assembled each month. Following assembling the bags, the families get together for a lunch.
Vacation Bible School will be held July 13 - 15, 2011. In this kid-friendly café full of chef's hats and aprons, pots and pans, checkered tablecloths, and chalkboard menus, kids explore the Bible as a cookbook filled with recipes for living out God's word.
Special programs involving our children are conducted during the year, such as a Christmas Pageant organized by our Music Ministry. Please see WORSHIP -> SPECIAL SERVICES -> CHILDREN for more details on the next children's program.
